Thunderstorms moved through the Treasure Valley tonight and what a beautiful sight it was, it is amazing how nature can design such perfect beauty. I can't think of a better way to spend an evening, than on top of a mountain watching the light change, the wind blow, the lightning flash. All the while changing lenses and cameras. We were not disappointed.

This old barn has graced Warm Springs Avenue for many decades, I must say that I am grateful for having the opportunity to use it many times over the years as a photographic subject. Many different experiments, always trying different lighting situations, working to better my exposures of this old gem. This East Boise landmark has seen its last days, demolition crews brought the structure down last weekend.

Snow Geese |

A friend called this morning to give me a heads up that there were migrating Snow Geese in the area. I packed up the camera gear and headed out the door as excited as one could be. To my amazement the geese were still there an hour later, I am so grateful to be able to witness these wonders of nature. These beautiful birds occur only in North America, and make an annual round trip journey of more than 5,000 miles at speeds of 50 mph or more. They breed in the Arctic Tundra, where overpopulation has depleted their food supply, winter in farmlands, lakes and coastal areas in the American south, southwest and east coast. In winter months, Snow Geese form highly gregarious flocks that may number into the thousands. Once again Mother Nature did not dissapoint us. Thanks Tim...

We had the opportunity to spend some time in Astoria Oregon last weekend and what a treat it was. As we set out for Cannon Beach the sun was out with a bit of fog, perfect Oregon Coast weather. The setting sun showered just the right amount of light on the surf for us to capture a few nice images.
