A trip to the Finger Lakes Region of New York would not be complete without a stop at Taughannoch Falls. Our hike in was right up the riverbed, the river was mostly solid stone. Most of the flows were confined to smaller streams, with evidence of higher spring flows. The main falls is the highest in the Northeast at 215 feet with canyon walls reaching up to 400 feet. Approaching the falls from this angle produces images galore, especially when the sun is setting. Scores of smaller falls, like this one, delight you along the way.
